The 2007 University Club Pro Doubles Championships will be played January 18-22, 2007. The event is actually comprised of two separate tournaments that run concurrently. In the pro tournament, the top doubles teams in the world compete for a total purse of $20,000. Expected to play in this draw are perennial champions Gary Waite/Damien Mudge, and a host of other contenders for the title. Paul Price and Ben Gould have won two of the early season tournaments, and they will be on hand to compete. Other top professional players will be here, including Boston residents Preston Quick, Doug Lifford, Patrick Malloy, and Chris Spahr.

Running coincidentally with this pro draw is the pro-am tournament in which 16 local amateurs each pair with one of the pros in the main draw. This division uses a star format in which each team plays a minimum of three matches. The pro-am tournament provides great fun for the amateurs, additional prize money for the pros, and comic relief for the spectators.

MSRA members are welcome to come watch the matches at The University Club. There is no charge for admission. For those who might want additional involvement with the event, there are a couple patron levels, as follows:

n      Two tickets to each of  the Friday evening buffet and Monday evening cocktail party

n      Special squash clinic with ISDA pros
